pssst asexual =/= LGBTQ, tyvm

also dany and irri

Asexual = a variation of queer. They even have a flag.

Dany and Irri have homosexual sex, but don’t actually express homosexual desire, hence why i didn’t include them.

lol, nope. asexies having a flag and calling themselves queer is actually just a load of appropriative bullshit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

ok, i admit it’s a while since i read the books and i don’t really remember the sex scenes in detail, but don’t dany and irri have sex on multiple occasions? i mean, i know all f/f sex in asoiaf is terribly written and usually the women involved are thinking about men the entire time, but idk, i find it a little hard to believe that two women who repeatedly have sex with each other are experiencing no homosexual desire whatsoever

No. Just no. The entire purpose of LGBTQ phrasing is to incorporate all forms of “queer” sexuality/gender identity. Anything that varies from the straight cissex gender-binary sexual identity that is the default in today’s society. And asexuality clearly fits into that paradigm. Even a heteroromantic asexual is still “queer” — they have to fight society’s presumptions, fight for their identity to be recognized as valid. And then you have homoromantic, biromantic, aromantic, demisexuals, grey asexuals, etc…every variation in the LGBTQ universe, just without the desire for sex that is “default”. They’re queer. They deserve the support and celebration of the queer community. You’re the one spouting bullshit, not the asexual community.

(Yes, Irri brings Dany to orgasm a couple times, but it’s duty on her part and Dany is thinking of men the entire time. She clearly states in her head that she doesn’t want Irri, she wants Drogo/Jorah/Daario.)

I’m only 1/3 onto book 2, so I’m not going to get on the argument of asexual characters on ASoIaF.

However, as an asexual person, honestly, you don’t get to dismiss my experience. You have no idea of what I’ve been through in my life because of being different. How my mother pushed me away and freaked over it, how I was sexually harrassed specifically because I was asexual and the guy took it upon himself to try to fix me, the name calling and dismissal of people among other things. Do you think I enjoyed humiliated in public over this?!

Do you think I like going through that?! That’s just me being a special snowflake because no matter how much I try I cannot change that about me?!

While every queer experience is different and some groups need more help than others, you do not get to fucking tell me I do not matter and that all the fucking crap that has come with my identity doesn’;t fucking matter.
